Black Moor Goldfish

It was said that the black velvet color of a Black Moor Goldfish has something to do with its hidden secrets. It was the Chinese people who were the first one to import these kind of fishes to Japan.
The Japanese avid collectors saw this fish as if it’s the ninth dragon of the Chinese belief. For the Chinese people, the ninth dragon symbolizes darkness, secrecy, the one who does the things in secret.
One of the most sought after characteristics of a Black Moor are the assets of its bulging eyes. You can see it as a very delicate thing for a fish swimming with harsh environment. Black Moors usually swim in still waters. They are the loner type kind of fishes. Like a black sheep who is cast off from the fold.
The Kuro Demekin is indeed a loner fish but most goldfish find it interesting to accompany with them. And it is a fact that these poor cast off type of goldfish when bred with other goldfish with the golden color the moor offspring would be so nice, because the golden color of the cross breed is dominantly seen through its scales and color of its iris.
There are other moor goldfish that are called the dragon-eye in China. It could be seen through their popping eye, as you look towards its dark iris. Like a Chinese dancing dragon, it has eyes that seem to hypnotize the ones that behold it.
The origin of this type of fish is indeed found in China. They were exported to Japan because collectors where bored to look at goldfish whose color are already bright. But with the velvet darkness of this Black Moors those shining characteristics of the other mate are readily notice by the delighted tamer.
Best cross breeds for the Black Moor are the common Goldfish and the pearscale goldfish. Colors would truly be dominant on their offspring. This is indeed the true testimony of the secrecy of the color of the black moor, for it is the only goldfish that gives other goldfish the chance to see the difference between the light and the absolute darkness. But you can never know what really inside this kind of fishes but some people believe that this is a clear testimony that there is balance of yin and yang.

When it comes to feeding your black moor goldfish, there is nothing that you should worry about as this type of goldfish eats almost anything that you give to them. They are often called as “happy eater”.  But if you want to give the best for your moor goldfish, give it sinking pellets. Sinking pellets are better compared to the floating ones.
